OVERVIEW

UNHOLD is a fashion campaign teaser built around physical release within controlled portrait environments. The project demonstrates AI Image & video art direction for contemporary fashion brands seeking emotionally driven, movement-led visual language rather than static lookbook presentation.

CONCEPT

UNHOLD explores the moment control gives way to instinct. The film replaces composure and pose with embodied movement, using slow-motion head motion, hair displacement and fabric response to create tension between structure and release.

Rather than exaggerating chaos, the direction remains restrained and editorial. Movement is treated as deliberate and textural, reinforcing intimacy and physical presence.

VISUAL APPROACH

UNHOLD is grounded in high-realism portrait lighting influenced by 1990s fashion photography, drawing from the era’s restrained minimalism, direct framing and naturalistic tonal control. Subjects are framed in close and mid compositions to maintain emotional proximity, with directional lighting used to emphasise skin texture, garment surface and physical presence. A deliberate shadow cast across the face and upper body introduces tension and depth, interrupting symmetry and reinforcing the theme of composure breaking. The lighting remains controlled rather than dramatic, avoiding stylised colour or exaggerated contrast. Movement is captured in slow motion to highlight hair displacement, skin and fabric lag, allowing gravity and texture to lead the frame. The overall tone is editorial and contemporary, balancing structure with instinct while maintaining a refined fashion aesthetic.
